Focke-Wulf 190 D-9 "Dora" - The build
Hello Chaps!
It is time to show you my last project. It is 1/48 scale Tamiya's Focke-Wulf 190 D-9 with Russian markings. The plane has been captured and German national insignias were replaced with red stars.
The build was quite fast and easy and the paint-job gave mi a lot of fun.
I present some in-progress pics below.

Robert

Some of added details on the engine cowling
Everything was OK, no visible scratches - the major paint-job could be started. First, a coat of Alclad II Magnesium over Gunze C8 Silver.
The effect was too intensive. A transparent coat of Gunze Silver was needed.
Natural metal surface has been masked, then a coat of Gunze RLM75 was applied and shaded. I often use Mr Retarder Mild when painting with Gunze. It makes that the paints work better with my airbrush.
Preshading with black.
RLM76 applied. Some minium spots are visible.
After RLM76 has dried, I started with green colors. Don't worry, it will look better in the next stages.
The tail section didn't look good to me and needed some additional work.
Now it looks much better, huh?
Basic colors successfully applied.
Some scratches and decals (poor quality, needed much work...)
Regards,
Robert
